Hair & Makeup Artist (HMUA)
Fendi Productions is looking for Hair & Makeup Artists (HMUA) to support independent productions across narrative films, spec commercials, branded visuals, fashion related productions, corporate campaigns, real estate visuals, and cinematic storytelling projects. Collaborators in this role may specialize in hairstyling, makeup artistry, or both depending on their experience and creative background. Hair and makeup collaborators may work alongside wardrobe stylists, production designers, actors, models, photographers, and creative departments to help bring visually cohesive looks and character concepts to life throughout productions.
Core Responsibilities
Design and execute hair and makeup looks that match the creative direction of each project.
Apply camera-safe makeup techniques that hold up under high-definition sensors and studio lights.
Style and maintain hair continuity for talent across different scenes and shooting blocks.
Manage rapid on-set touch-ups to eliminate unwanted shine, sweat, or flyaway hairs.
Maintain strict hygiene and sanitation standards for all products, brushes, and tools.
Organize your workspace efficiently to complete multiple talent setups before the camera rolls.
Ideal Qualifications
Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience providing hair and makeup services for film, commercials, or editorial photo shoots.
System Knowledge: Complete mastery of skin tones, color matching, hair textures, and camera-safe application products.
Visual Focus: Ability to spot minor details on a monitor, handle high-contrast lighting adjustments, and track look consistency under pressure.
Speed: Capability to complete hair and makeup setups efficiently without slowing down production timelines.
Punctuality: Arrival before call time to set up your station and begin prep exactly when talent arrives.
Production Environment
Production opportunities under Fendi Productions may include dramatic film productions, episodic storytelling, spec commercials, branded visuals, documentaries, fashion related content, real estate visuals, corporate and service based business campaigns, social media campaigns, and behind the scenes creative work. Most productions are based in Greensboro, North Carolina with additional travel opportunities depending on production needs, creative direction, and filming locations. Production schedules and filming days may vary depending on project scope, scene requirements, timelines, and location availability.
