Location Scout

The Location Scout finds and secures the physical spaces that bring our scripts to life. You are the first person on the ground, translating the Director's vision into real-world environments. This role requires a mix of artistic vision, logistical problem-solving, and strong community diplomacy. We value your local knowledge, resourcefulness, and persistence over formal film degrees.

Core Responsibilities

  • Analyze scripts to identify the specific environmental needs of each scene.

  • Research, visit, and photograph potential locations that match the project's aesthetic.

  • Negotiate use fees, permits, and contracts with property owners and local officials.

  • Assess logistical feasibility, including parking, power supply, and ambient sound issues.

  • Coordinate scout visits for the Director, DP, and Production Designer.

  • Secure necessary local permits and neighborhood clearance before filming begins.

Ideal Qualifications

  • Portfolio of location photography demonstrating a strong eye for composition and scale.

  • Local Network or deep knowledge of regional architecture, hidden spots, and public spaces.

  • Contract Diplomacy skills to negotiate with property owners while staying within budget.

  • Logistical Foresight to spot hidden production hazards (e.g., nearby construction, no outlets).

  • Reliable Transport and a clean driving record to travel extensively during pre-production.

Production Environment

Production opportunities under Fendi Productions may include dramatic film productions, episodic storytelling, spec commercials, branded visuals, documentaries, fashion related content, real estate visuals, corporate and service based business campaigns, social media campaigns, and behind the scenes creative work. Most productions are based in Greensboro, North Carolina with additional travel opportunities depending on production needs, creative direction, and filming locations. Production schedules and filming days may vary depending on project scope, scene requirements, timelines, and location availability.
